Two billboards in which images of Native Americans are used to make a gun rights argument are causing a stir with some Colorado residents who say the image is offensive and insensitive.
The billboards in this northern Colorado city show three men dressed in traditional Native American attire and the words "Turn in your arms. The government will take care of you."
Matt Wells, an account executive with Lamar Advertising in Denver, said Monday that a group of local residents purchased the space.
"They have asked to remain anonymous," he said.
He also refused to disclose the cost but said the billboards are only appearing in the Greeley area. Wells said he has not received any complaints so far.
"I think it's a little bit extreme, of course, but I think people are really worried about their gun rights and what liberties are going to be taken away," Wells told the Greeley Tribune.

Oh can I be offended next?
They don't just want to shut you up - they want to enslave you or kill you.
Copied and awaiting some home made bumper sticker printing.
It’s just fine with me!
Go visit your local Indian res and you will find out the truth.
The Demolshoviks can always produce member or two from any given protected class that are “deeply offended” by conservatives.
The real question is, has Elizabeth Warren come to pow wow over the issue yet?
The Trans-Siberians should be supportive of our natural right to own and bear arms.
I sense that many ‘tribe leaders’ are reflective of Tony Soprano and his ilk.
actually, its sounds as if it is a guilt-ridden white woman doing the complaining.
Not the native Americans
Wasn’t the same type image used in regards to ‘Immigration Laws’?
As to the people ‘complaining’ about the American Indian being ‘wards of the Government’, back when they ‘taught’ History, the Indians were kind of FORCED onto reservations and over the years have descended into a ‘welfare, depend on the Govt mode’.
Which it is starting to seem obvious that is basically the fate for the ‘rest of us’, save a few elites (or self called elites).
Apparently enough of the ‘leaders’ of the American Indians figured that policy was supposed to work.- ‘Why risk fighting for yours when ‘the man’ promises you all will be peaches and cream’?
Seeing as my Grandparents, Parents and family were born in the US of A, I am a ‘Native American’ as are a good majority of us, including the ersatz ‘African’ Americans, who couldn’t point out the continent on a Google Centralized Map.
I imagine that leftist groups contacted Indian groups and asked them to protest the billboards because it brings up the specter of racism. Leftists always strong-arm others into making requests or demands coming from somewhere else.
so....It sounds like Elizabeth Warren has more Indian blood than the woman doing the complaining here.
One time when I was visiting the Mission at St Francis, a Lakota elder told me; “Watch out, the middle class is next”
He was a Korean Vet.
Sadly, they have forgotten. And if we can’t end this, that billboard will be us and our children’s children will never know freedom anymore.
That is exactly the line the “Native Americans” fell for. Look at them now.
The truth hurts.
Righto.
Here in FL the wannabees get their panties all bunched over the university using the team name Seminoles.
The actual Seminoles kind of like it.
“Brucker said she thinks those who put up the billboards should come forward to discuss their viewpoints.
Well Maureen, here’s a viewpoint:
“THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME THE GOV’T DISARMED A PEOPLE IN AMERICA!”
How’s THAT for a viewpoint?!?!
Pump up the volume!
still they were not the only ones who were mistreated in history. I know in my case, I had ancestors suffer under the pogroms in Russia because they were Jewish.

Said that to a liberal anthropology professor once and added that both the Jews and the Indians had lost a homeland, but the Jews had regained theirs.
He turned a bright shade of purple and exploded: “There is NO comparison between the Jews (sneer) and the American Indians (coo)”.
I have known some white people who frequent the Pine Ridge. Once a year they have a clothing drive “for the Indians”. They are rich hippies who have been doing this for 40 years. It is to alleviate their own assumed *guilt*.
