‘Misha’ Speaks: An Interview with the Alleged Boston Bomber’s ‘Svengali’

Today I was able to meet “Misha,” whose real name is Mikhail Allakhverdov. Having been referred by a family in Boston that was close to the Tsarnaevs, I found Allakverdov at his home in Rhode Island, in a lower middle class neighborhood, where he lives in modest, tidy apartment with his elderly parents. He confirmed he was a convert to Islam and that he had known Tamerlan Tsarnaev, but he flatly denied any part in the bombings. “I wasn’t his teacher. If I had been his teacher, I would have made sure he never did anything like this,” Allakhverdov said.

A thirty-nine-year-old man of Armenian-Ukrainian descent, Allakhverdov is of medium height and has a thin, reddish-blond beard. When I arrived he was wearing a green and white short-sleeve football jersey and pajama pants. Along with his parents, his American girlfriend was there, and we sat together in a tiny living room that abuts the family kitchen.

Elmirza Khozhugov, 26, the ex-husband of Tamerlan’s sister, Ailina, said the Tsarnaevs were not at the mosque frequently until 2008 or 2009, when Tamerlan Tsarnaev met Misha. Khozhugov recalled the visit Misha made to the family home, where he stayed for hours:

Misha was telling him what is Islam, what is good in Islam, what is bad in Islam. This is the best religion and that’s it. Mohammed said this and Mohammed said that. It was late, like midnight. His father comes in and says, ‘Why is Misha here so late and still in our house?” He asked it politely. Tamerlan was so much into the conversation he didn’t listen.

Khozhugov said Tamerlan’s mother, Zubeidat, said:
“Don’t interrupt them. They’re talking about religion and good things. Misha is teaching him to be good and nice.” When Misha would start talking, Tamerlan would stop talking and listen. It upset his father because Tamerlan wouldn’t listen to him as much. He would listen to this guy from the mosque who was preaching to him.

I think we cannot forget that the older brother had determined to go deeper into Islamic teachings......we cannot forget how dangerous these teachings are ...no one becomes a bo*ber unless he's, with certainty, determined and “believes” the way he is going is the truth...and in his case he acted on that.

I hesitate to use the word “influence” because it's appearing too often it's being presented that all the “other” variables, from other people, to if or not they were mentally unstable, etc.etc. is painting a picture that these two were victims rather than the “terrorist murders” they are...and the family's background etc. is feeding this.

Yes, those who were “involved” in any way need to be looked at and investigated, but with the goal to prosecute not give more ‘reasons why’ these two did what they did...and the media is leaning toward just the opposite.

Well I see Drudge has her front and center.....she no doubt thought the attention would be favorable and is fast finding otherwise.

As the disdain for her increases she’lll back off from the limelight....but she does like the limelight.

I don't know if you remember, but I said there was more to her than what she was letting on, and in fact trying hard to cover for herself..and I still believe she will do so in the future...
