That's the blue liquid you pour into a little holding tray in the door and it dispenses it throughout several loads. It's not cheap. I also buy that at Sam's in a great big bottle. I think it treats the water and makes the glasses more sparkly.

I saw another dishwashing person recommend that you run your kitchen sink tap water until it's hot. I do the same with mine, because I have a gas water heater which is more efficient than the DW heater they have built in to the machine. See, I know how to save energy...and can do a better job than nimrod regulators. I also run the tap water for my washing machine in the laundry room for the same reason, since my Bosch washing machine can super heat the water for loads.

Had not heard of this chemical. I plann on doing a lot of canning and jars need to be cleaned and recycled.
