An arbitrator on Wednesday ruled in favor of a former Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue captain who was demoted after he posted comments to Facebook about Trayvon Martin following the teenager's shooting death.
Brian Beckmann was demoted in May 2012 after posting: "I and my co-workers could rewrite the book on whether our urban youths are victims of racist profiling or products of their failed, (expletive), ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents."
A blogger published the post, which sparked protest in Miami's African-American community.

Also a shame his "union brothers" who would protest a 1% cut in pay, were silent in the face of the urban thugs.
Another shame is that the mayor took the side of the thugs.
Good for him. Free speech won this time but we need to stay vigilant. Nobody wants to hear the truth and they will do what they can to suppress alternative viewpoints.
I never was and never will be on Facebook because it's would only be a matter of time before things like this could happen to me.
A lot of the right gets indignant about it, but we HAVE to sue early and often. It’s the only way short of armed revolution we have a chance at holding back the communist horde that now runs America,
Correction: not “judge” but arbitrator.
This is the reason I’m on Facebook. The leftists have gone unchallenged for too long.
More people need to speak out.
How dare this Fire Captain post the truth!
Florida news ping.
Sir_Humphrey~:” Correction: not judge but arbitrator”
re-Correction: not judge but union-represented arbitrator.
I can't imagine why. The blogger just posted the truth. Too brutal for some folks I guess. Maybe hit a little too close to home.
I hate to admit it, but I'm riding the fence on this one. I may agree with the statement he made, but the facts remain: half the citizenry have lost their damn minds and want Zimmerman hung from the highest tree. It sucks, but we live with those people. We may not have to give a damn what they think, but they still do a lot of damage that we have to clean up... and they aren't going away any time soon
Too bad there also wasn’t a large financial award to the Captain for his trouble.
A couple of multi-million dollar judgments would likely slow-down this nonsense.
Going that route violates the First amendment.
I am well aware that 95% of the blacks I interact with are Obama’s low information voters. I do not demand they lose their jobs because they are supportive of the assclown.
Captain Beckman deserves the same respect we show the low information voters. He also has two factors in his favor that MOST of them do not:
1. He risks his life to save the low info voters.
2. He is correct on the issue.
As a retired Firefighter I can see the Captains point of view clearly.
“I and my co-workers could rewrite the book on whether our urban youths are victims of racist profiling or products of their failed, (expletive), ignorant, pathetic, welfare dependent excuses for parents.”
It is indeed the truth so help me God.
A couple of multi-million dollar judgments would likely slow-down this nonsense.
Amen, Arm_Bears! Leftist extremists may not understand the first thing in the world about constitutional principlesor they may just hate thembut they do understand dollars.
Telling the truth about an individual or group from any "protected" class is considered an assault upon the entire class, and is forbidden.
A lot of the so-called right are so Business Socialist that they would prohibit the right to sue a business or your employer if the people running the company mowed down your entire family
Good that this firefighter won....and Black KKK style racism lost. The firefight. was correct
Which is exactly we must not EVER give an inch and cave to their PC BS. Psych 101 - NEVER cater to bad behavior. If they do not like what he said, and what he said is demonstratably true, THEY can change.
Not Us.
EVER.
No matter the subject or statement, the truth must never take a back seat to ‘feelings’ or an all out race riot.
EVER.
Had the topic been the unhealthy habits of male homosexuals he would be gone.
