A local news outlet is reporting that the home-goods retailer, Williams-Sonoma has pulled pressure cookers from their shelves in the aftermath of the Boston attack.
According to the Dedham Patch, Williams-Sonoma has pulled pressure cookers off the shelves out of respect for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
Kent, a store manager of the Williams-Sonoma at the Natick Mall says:
"It's a temporary thing out of respect."
Authorities have confirmed that pressure cookers were used by the two men who planned and carried out the bombing at the Boston Marathon last Monday.
Williams-Sonoma says that the product will still be available online.
Dear Williams-Sonoma,
I find it uplifting and touching that you take such a bold symbolic step as this in removing pressure cookers from your shelves. I also think it would be fitting if you removed all nails, screws or other potential projectile objects that were placed in the pressure cooker from the structure of your buildings/shelves and use a safe alternative to hold these things together. This would be quite a respectful tribute to the fallen victims of this tragedy.
Chuck Williams has something else up his butt...
Certainly no respect for common sense or proportion.
..........in a related story, Home Depot and Lowe’s have pulled nails and nuts and bolts off the shelves out of respect...
Hey maybe they can ban fireworks too since Tamerlan purchased fireworks from a shop in New Hampshire..Hey here’s an idea..how about blame the INDIVIDUAL instead of blaming a pressure cooker..f’n morons..the left loves putting the blame on THINGS instead of putting the blame on PEOPLE
Of course some numbnuts will put a pressure cooker in a public area to freak people out, just a matter of time.
didn’t they also use nails in making the bomb? Ban nails as well
First they came for the pressure cookers. Next, frying pans. What next, tea kettles? Oh the horror of it.
If pressure cookers are outlawed, then only chefs will have them, or something like that.
Pressure cookers don’t kill. Terrorists do.
“Guns are bad. I’m a good person.”
“You’re a racist. I’m a good person.”
“I’ve banned pressure cookers. I’m a good person.”
Liberals are soooo opportune to
self-validation.
The sad part is that Al Qeada suggests using the powder from fireworks if you can’t get enough match heads.
Apparently the matchheads are a slow burn but produce much more gas and pressure for a bigger boom.
obviously Boeing lack respect for the victims
Sure is. At Amazon. 3,021 results. Why bother with Williams-Sonoma?
That is stupid. If they want to do something “out of respect” for the murdered and maimed people, they should lobby to kick jihadis the hell out of this country.
Its not about whether you can buy a pressure cooker or about Williams-Sonoma. Its about pushing back against the insidious leftward creep.
After all, the nazis didn’t start big either.
Kent ya flippin idgits.....
Are you serious ? So pressure cooker is a type of explosive that was becoming uniquely identified in a powerful and destructive way with the name of your product and the company should have reacted passively ? Imagine if there had been a copycat terrorist touting Williams Sonoma pressure cookers as the means to house these IED’s, the reputation of the company would have been seriously compromised. At least by temporarily pulling the items they have covered themselves to some extent.
Oh good grief!
Perhaps they should make sure white ball caps are pulled from the market too. Dumbasses.
We need common sense pressure cooking legislation right now! The Founding Fathers didn’t even have pressure cookers in their day and did not conceive of them.
