Probably only the “fully automatic” ricers, not the hand held, semi automatic ricers, which many people need to rice their potatoes when they are hunting and target mashing.

One time my mom was cooking navy beans in ours. She got busy and forgot to put the valve on the top. The beans were making their exit out the tiny opening and covered the entire ceiling over the stove. Never were able to totally remove them. What a mess. Have to laugh about it now.

Was back in the mid 1940’s. The house is still there and probably the remnants of those beans.

Three good solid pieces of re-rod, fastened together at the top with a couple of hose clamps, a chain, and an S-hook, should do the trick. I think you can buy one for around 45 bucks.

You don't know what's been in that cauldron, so I concur with cleaning it WELL. Cast iron has pores in it, so you will want to boil it extremely hard with lye for a good long time, then boil with 2-3 changes of water. And if there is ANY chance that something really nasty (pesticides, etc.) has been in it, just use it for a display piece.

Next thing some inventive genius will design and make an adapter for the nail gun so they can shoot bullets!!!

When I was in 7th grade they took us on a tour of the state police training facility which had a museum of all the confiscated homemade weapons. Wow was that dangerous information. Showing a 12 year old how to make a rat trap 12 gauge shotgun and a zip gun. Never made any of them, but it would be easy.

Which is why our media is a bunch of complete effing morons for running detailed step-by-step instructions on how to build a pressure cooker bomb continuously since Tuesday.

A pressure cooker in my kitchen would be pretty suspicious - I’m still struggling with pans with lids!

I think we may need a national pressure cooker registry! When pressure cookers are outlawed, only outlaws will have pressure cookers!

I’ve got a 22 quart pressure cooker that I don’t use (It was great grannies and is old enough to concern me)

Take it down to your local home extension office and they'll check it out for free. You can find them in the county government pages of the phone book or look online. A 4-H kid can also direct you to them.

Who’s the manufacturer? If it’s Presto, they have a site with every replacement part you’ll need. I’m sure other brands have sites, too.

Also, check your neighborhood hardware store. Ace and True Value have them.

I have a feeling if I walk into True Value today and ask them where the pressure cookers are a SWAT team will be there in seven minutes.

Huh? What does this story have to do with government regulation, when this is just local police being called about a suspicious package?

I doubt that, since you can easily make a detonator out of a pair of walkie talkies, or a couple of radios, or egg timers, etc.

This whole damned country has become a social pressure cooker that is about to explode. Every day seems to bring a new controversy or outrage. Young people, it wasn’t always this bad.

“Huh? What does this story have to do with government regulation, when this is just local police being called about a suspicious package?”

Well, I suspect it is relevant anyway, because I predict the Federal regulations that intrude into our lives is about to become much worse, all in the name of security of course. For instance, I was in London back in 1974 when the IRA bombed the Tower of London [by the grace of God, that bomb missed me by one day]. Thereafter, you could not walk into any public building without being searched, particularly if you were carrying anything at all. I left a few weeks later and so don’t know how long that continued.

I have a pressure cooker for when TSHTF to make beans soft things fast and tenderize/cook animal meat fast.

The cooker is in the room where I am and I hope it doesn’t explode on its own since I don’t know if it even likes me.
