(CNN) -- The devices used in the Boston Marathon attack Monday are typical of the "lone wolf:" the solo terrorist who builds a bomb on his own by following a widely available formula. In this case, the formula seems very similar to one that al Qaeda has recommended to its supporters around the world as both crudely effective and difficult to trace. But it is also a recipe that has been adopted by extreme right-wing individuals in the United States. The threat of the "lone wolf" alarms the intelligence community.

I’ve followed the news for decades, and I don’t recall a “pressure cooker bomb” ever being used by an American. For that matter, I don’t recall a bomb being used by an American that was directed at “soft targets”...

IF it was a White, Christian, Licensed Gun Owning, Republican, He would have been found, tried, convicted and executed by now.
The long delays, speculations, denials, and coverups point to the “Religion of Peace” more than anything else.

Also, this type of bomb is used pretty often in Central Asia. Certainly doesn’t indicate Tea Partiers to me...

Not an actual pressure per se cooker though I have heard of fire extinguishers being used.

Well, it appears that six liter pressure cookers were used as the bomb’s casing. Look for liberals to state “nobody needs a six liter pressure cooker. Six liter pressure cookers should only be allowed in the hands of the police or military. Six liter pressure cookers only have one purpose which is to kill people”.

Let the speculation stop until we have something definite.
I think it’s too early to jump to any such conclusions.
I also believe there are lots of hard-working and ethical people in LEO, and any such attempt at coverup would require the cooperation of hundreds of them, or more. I just don’t see it as particularly viable.
It could be a lone nut, it could be an Islamist, it could be a left wing terrorist, it could even be a right wing terrorist.
But whoever it was, he wins if he gets everyone freaking out, demanding that we become more of a police state, and forgetting what a free republic is supposed to be.
The "experts" calling this a lone wolf act:
1. Have never personally seen/handled one or two pressure cookers
or
2. Require the willful suspension of disbelief to give credence to their theory.
Even a 6 quart pressure cooker would be a stretch for one backpack.
I'm sensing that unless someone taking pictures just happened to catch the bomber planting the bombs, the FBI doesn't have a clue, in which case they will find some hapless person that opposes emperor 0bama's rule and pin it on him.
