In explaining why President Obama didn't call the Boston bombings a "terrorist attack," former adviser David Axelrod said, "I'm sure what was going through the president's mind is -- we really don't know who did this -- it was tax day":
"The word has taken on a different meaning since 9/11," Axelrod said of the phrase "terrorist attack."
"You use those words and it means something very specific in people's mind. And I'm sure what was going through the president's mind is -- we really don't know who did this -- it was tax day. Was it someone who was pro--you know, you just don't know. And so I think his attitude is, let's not put any inference into this, let's just make clear that we're going to get the people responsible."
That was determined to be "not related" to what happened at the finish line. It apparently was a mechanical fire.
I was being sarcastic. Of course no conservative did this and the media knows it! They just want to use the event to get the meme out that Tea Party people are ‘dangerous’. We all know what is going on.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a domestic terrorist attack. It is quite reminiscent of the Centennial Olympic Park Bombing. But considering we are in a war against Islamic extremists, they are the more likely suspects.
They desperately want it to be a right winger. If so, the repression begins.

I too found that odd. Someone is saying something maybe. Was anything determined on the report out of Texas yesterday regarding people extremely sick (approx. 15 persons) at a baby supply store? My problem is cannot keep up.

I think you are right. The date is coincidental. The significance appears to be from bombing the crowd/participants at a high-profile sporting event, (terrorist act), rather than a specific political statement.
If "Tax day" or "Israel's Independence Day" were the significant motivators, the terrorists would likely have chosen target(s) more closely related to those topics--an IRS office or Israeli consulate--rather than the finish line of a footrace.
The act was aimed at rattling the masses, or the devices would likely have been placed where dignitaries would have been more likely to have been injured.
People using explosive devices to protest something tend to remain focused on what they are protesting, and that affects their selection of target(s). These appear to have been shrapnel laden (antipersonnel) devices, aimed at people, not structures.
Because one could reasonably expect the crowd to contain people of all backgrounds and political views, the objective appears to be one of terror, not a specific viewpoint or policy.
If this IS an attack by Muslims, 0bama will order his agencies to DELAY making that announcement until such time the media coverage dies out. If an attack by ‘right wing extremists’, 0bama will disclose it the very second it becomes known.
