“I’m going to steal an idea, somewhat, from William F. Buckley. We would be better off picking our leaders out of a phone book than how we’re doing it now.
“They could be bribed!” Look at what we have now.
“They could be out just for themselves!” Look at what we have now.
“They could make stupid decisions!” Look at what we have now.
“Other leaders might take advantage of them!” Look at what we have now.
“It would be hard to get rid of them!” Look at what we have now.
“They might be lazy!” Look at what we have now.
I propose a Constitutional Convention to amend the US Constitution to do away with elections and have our leaders selected by throwing darts at a list of American citizens. We can’t do any worse than what we have now.”
