Kicking down the door at the wrong damned address isn’t a mistake. Shooting a truck full of holes that doesn’t remotely fit the description of the one in the A.P.B. isn’t a mistake.

This is potentially lethal negligence.

Is this true for all cases of wrong addresses?

Since you are not referencing a specific incident, and are leaving the question open to interpretation, what if the truck that was accidentally stopped contained wanted violent felons who were intent on killing a police officer?
