Sixteen Republicans voted in favor of the motion, while two Democrats — both from states President Obama lost in the 2012 election — voted against it. The two Democrats were Sens. Mark Begich (Alaska) and Mark Pryor (Ark.), both of whom face reelection next year.
The 16 Republicans who voted to proceed were Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), Kelly Ayotte (N.H.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Saxby Chambliss (Ga.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), Susan Collins (Maine), Bob Corker (Tenn.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Dean Heller (Nev.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Johnny Isakson (Ga.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), John McCain (Ariz.), Pat Toomey (Pa.) and Roger Wicker (Miss.). Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) missed the vote.

I find Justice Story's Commentaries to be good time capsule which indicates how the Founding States intended for the Constitution to be understood.

Mark Levin is calling them out by name and says to never support them again in any way. It is time to remove them and fight. From the bottom up at the grassroots. Not from the top down.

They came for the guns in Britain and the Brits rolled over. They came for the guns in Australia and the Aussies rolled over. Are Americans different? We will someday soon find out.

Great idea and impossible goal, at least through the usual political process.
The problem is that most voters have short memory and even many conservatives will re-elect the Pol that brings home the goodies.
We are approaching the diminishing point for democracies at our 235+ years. Our Representative Republic was night and day better than any other form of government. If we are smart our next try will be even better as the result of learning from our mistakes.
