It could be that The Bible vs Walking Dead, was just what cable people had. AMC is on most, even the basic while the History Channel is not.

I have basic and get the HC. My daughter who is 26 chose The Walking Dead while I watched The Bible. I watched most of the series. I think The Walking Dead is the dumbest show on TV but maybe tied with The Bachelor.

Isn’t the Walking Dead an old movie? I remember we went to a Drive-in Movie in St Augustine, Florida back in September of 1966. The first movie they showed was Dracula and the second one was the Walking Dead. Dracula was scary enough for me, but the Walking Dead was even more so. Since that time I have refused to watch horror movies. To me horror movies are very inappropriate on Easter

History Channel has been on basic cable since before there was an AMC.

The Bible has an immediately self limiting audience. Anybody that’s not a devout Christian is immediately not going to watch it because they’re just not interested. But people with certain high levels of devotion also won’t watch it, because they don’t want to see it altered, or might interpret it as craven images.

Zombie fiction doesn’t have that limitation. BOR is turning it into something it isn’t. Non-religious stories automatically have a broader base of appeal than religious stories.
