Back when I covered the British hit songwriters of the late Sixties, I covered the songs of Tony Macaulay and John Macleod, and the songs of Les Reid and Barry Mason. Macaulay and Mason collaborated on this song for vocalist Tony Burrows who sang on a goodly number of British hits of the era under names such as White Plains, the Brotherhood of Man and Edison Lighthouse.
Ive always thought that Lou Warburtons production and arranging was rather clunky in his deployment of strings in unison with the vocal line. It sounds amateurish. This came in at #5.
