Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed a bill into law Thursday afternoon that will bring sweeping changes to gun control.
On Monday, a bipartisan agreement on gun control was unveiled by lawmakers that proposed limiting magazines to no more than 10 rounds. Those who currently have larger magazines would have to register them with state police.
The legislation, which is more than 100 pages long, will create strong penalties for anyone who carries large ammunition magazines away from home or a gun range.
The state would also become the first in the country to create a dangerous weapon offender registry and there would be universal background checks for assault weapons.
The House and the Senate voted in favor of the 139-page bill crafted by leaders from both major parties in the Democratic-controlled General Assembly.
Just after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Connecticut Senate voted 26-10 to pass the gun control legislation and the House passed the bill 105-44 just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

I guess we'll see... Let's hope you are wrong.
Well damn, and here I thought in rural Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Northern California, Georgia, Utah, Michigan, Kansas, Nebraska and so on that there will still Americans who still had the same exact fighting spirit they had 100 to 200 years ago, certainly as you get further away from the big, hyper progressive cities. You know, with country folk being pretty much the same as they have always been - at least I had thought so, anyway.
Don't know, but it would be best to completely avoid and boycott such states. Let them feast on the economic consequences of their actions.
“...There aren’t Americans like that any more....”
I wouldn’t be so too awful sure about that. For example, these communists know that our vets pose a threat to their regime. Thus, the demonizing of them on gun purchases etc.
For every vet, there are thousands more out there that they don’t even know about. Yeah, I doubt no one will argue that those “no knock” raids are intimidating, but if they push hard enough, I fear there will be a strong push back in some of these places. The community organizer has done a great job of just about splitting the country in half....as planned, I suspect.
“...I wonder: If I go into Colorado while on vacation and have a shotgun under one of the beds in our Airstream trailer and a Seecamp .32 in my pocket, will I be subject to arrest?...”
You know they would do it just to prove the point.
But why go there and spend your money in a place like that?
Don’t spend a red cent there. There are many other places to vacation without supporting a communist economy with your spending.
Who has authority to initiate such an action?
Look for the CT,NY,and CO laws to land up in the courts.
President, Governor, Sheriff, concerned local citizen. In that order from top down according to things like the Constitution, Militia Act, etc...
Constitution State...bah. More like the unimportant conscript appendage of North Korea.
You’re both right. I have been making a list of what states not to support, but there are blue states one may have to go through to get to a red state.
We carry our own groceries, so the most I am likely to buy in a red state is gas.
Carrying a shotgun or AR in our trailer is new to me, usually I carry only a sidearm.

A Northeastern state passes another stupid gun law. How historic. Yawn. Scratch ass. Eat Dorito.
Sorry
We need overt leaders speaking up for the Constitution and Rule of Law, but when the shadow war starts...
No leaders.
Leaderless resistance.

When traveling thru harsh states it’s good to have open briefcases, bags nearby where in case of stop you can throw goodies inside, with a padlock and secure quickly, or gun cases or small gun vaults. Experiment.
Bat bags, tennis racket bags, folding lawn chair bags, guitar bags, etc make items more discreet.
Welcome to another RED STATE, the Peoples’ Republic of Connecticut.
Scratch them off from my vacation list, and I have relatives there in what were once decent, safe cities.
If I can’t come apackin’, then I’m not coming backin’.
I picked up the 10/22 takedown model 3 weeks ago and still haven’t shot it due to being overseas. I’m going to write a letter to Ruger asking them to buy it back if they won’t move to a more “Rights” friendly state.
Ha! Sounds like you actually believe those voted into office draft, read and vote on bills. Aside from voting, the only other thing they do is run for office, steal our $$ and pad their own pockets.
The Republic has had its boned picked over in NE corridor. It’s one of the reasons I left that area 20 yrs ago and dread each time I have to return.
Does a Midway catalog = large ammo magazine?
I’ve said this many times...starting today *gun violence* should no longer exist in CT. They promised. They outlawed it. Clever politicians. Phew! I feel so safe.
