In the radar world, these are call “dismounts”. They can be detected, but it is up to the operator of the radars to do something about it, unless they are prepared to strafe the intruders (most effective response).

Congressman Chaffets is touring the border, you can follow him on twitter. This is what he saw yesterday.
Worst thing I've seen. 60 elementary age kids leave this school in Naco, AZ Then, unaccompanied, they cross the border to "home" in Mexico. No papers checked. Supervisor said it happens daily pic.twitter.com/ZZst4MEHtT Those kids aren't tall enough to ride most things at Disneyland let alone cross an international border without an adult

Operated from a Predator surveillance drone, the radar system has collected evidence that Border Patrol agents apprehended fewer than half of the foreign migrants and smugglers who had illegally crossed into a 150-square-mile stretch of southern Arizona. But ... but ... but ... Napalitano said the border was secure! What gives?
Oh, that's right, she's lying becaus her lips were moving.
This is why any amnesty contingent upon the border being secure is nonsense. Because the hack pols will declare such even if such is not the case.
