We’re losing the gay marriage fight, badly. Especially with the under 35 set and women. At some point we will have to recognize that there is no longer a moral majority in the United States. It’s not 1980 anymore. Hell, it’s not even 2000. The best route politically IMO is to push to deregulate marriage period. If FedGov is removed from the marriage game, it placates the gays (and popular sentiment) without sullying the sanctity of marriage (a religious civil union). The only other alternative that I see is going full bore Christian socialist and making divorce illegal. Honor the vows, or don’t take them at all.
“We” are not losing any votes, goats or totes. Vote your moral compass. Do the next right thing, no matter what. Live without fear. Ya know, false evidence appearing real. Fear. Live by doing the next right thing, no matter what.
We are sadly a very, very badly divided country.
