But StartPage blocks the tracking, and StartPage itself does no tracking.
All the advantages of a Google search, and none of the surveillance disadvantages, plus you're not helping Google generate any revenue.

"I seem to recall several years or more ago they did a special "doodle" logo for Ramadan or some other special Islamic day."
I recall - a bit - that there was a tribute of sorts for some ME holiday.
Guess I need to Google it - wait no! - ixquick it, or bing it.....

I give Google a lot of credit here. They were good enough to retract their heinous snub of Easter. They knew exactly what they were doing with the snub - it was deliberate. They just didn't grasp the magnitude of the push back and their apology is a typical liberal non-apology.

I don’t give them credit, to me it is not that they did it that bothers them; more like they didn’t expect the backlash. More or less like many caught doing wrong; not sorry they did it, just sorry they got caught.

There is a search engine bar at the top of the browser beneath the tabs. Click on the left side button, and a drop-down menu will appear. At the bottom, click on “Manage Search Engines...” A small window will open that allows you to add or delete anything from the list of search engines.
The very first thing I do when I get a new computer is install Firefox and delete the Google search. Then I get Firefox’s ad-blocker add on that automatically blocks “Google analytics.”

“We at Google honor Easter and are mortified that our Doodle of Chavez in any way upstaged this Holy Christian Holiday. We are reviewing the way Google Doodles are chosen on a go-forward basis.”

Who is the ‘artist’ who creates these horrible drawings? I see them everywhere.

Ahhh, another one from the same ‘artist’ I must have missed it when I wrote to Laz.
Where are these things coming from?

However Socialism is a religion, where Man is god.
So the doodle was indeed religious.
