Sorry Anthony. but Madonna has no legal obligation to support you. And from what I am seeing, no moral obligation either.
You are coming across as a whiny butt.

Anthony Ciccone 56 years of age, an alcoholic living “on the streets” now begging in public and trying to shame his sister into supporting him. That's disgusting.
His sister, like her or hate her has worked her can off to get where she is and this bum, this disgusting bum has the audacity to whine and moan.

“Anthony Ciccone 56 years of age, an alcoholic living “on the streets” now begging in public and trying to shame his sister into supporting him. That’s disgusting.”

Its called doing everything but facing reality. I learned this when I lived with an alcoholic girlfriend for the better part of a year. It is alcohol and obtaining it above all else. Finally had to have her arrested under an OOP. She sobered up in jail (her bottom) and is clean and sober to this day. (2 1/2 years) You will not love them into recovery. It does not work that way.

With someone like this its usually jail or death. Unfortunately some people’s bottom is death.

Anthony will have to face that reality on his own and get help when he is ready. Anything else is just enabling and delaying the inevitable.

Most enablers get a hard lesson in this and hopefully wake up before it is too late. I’m thankful I did.

Absolutely true.

I recall reading an interview with her maybe twenty years ago, where she related how her and her band lived when they were struggling to make it in the business. They slept in an abandoned industrial building, and scrounged food out of fast food restaurant trash cans to stay alive.

Should Madonna be declared “The Most Admired Obama Supporter at the Free Republic”?

I don’t think Madonna or Obama should have to support their deadbeat siblings. That said, given their constant whining about helping the poor, including those who won’t help themselves and incouraging such behavior, that makes Madonna and Obama two of the biggest hypocrites in history.

He's eligible for Social Security Disability, plus a paid live-in guardian here in Washington state.

Or, for SSI Disability, if he lacks 40 Social Security points.

I used to live in Gainesville, FL.

Big VA hospital there, or there was 20 years ago, anyway.

Near the end of each month, dozens of middle aged alcoholics would suddenly appear on the streets.

They were flat broke veterans waiting for their next pension check.

They would check in to the VA’s 7 day Detox program to get 3 square meals and a cot.

The guys on the street were waiting for a bed to open up or had already been discharged.

Once everybody got paid, they would all disappear for 3 weeks.

My point is.....

There are millions of drunks who live wayyy better than Madonna's brother at taxpayer expense.

That's my sense of her, too. Back in the early 90's I went to see her film "Truth or Dare" just because I found her so interesting. Never bought any of her recordings, never attended any of her concerts, can't stand her politics, but still... She invented herself from scratch and worked and worked and worked until the whole world knew her, then kept reinventing herself to stay on top. How many people can do that?

To borrow the line of an Oprah admirer, "Most of us can't even keep our desks clean."

Funny how the poor suffering guy manages to be homeless

There was a similar pity piece done on this guy a couple of years ago. So two years go by and he's still under the same bridge..........That's a nice looking river, I'm sure there's some nice trout in there if only he'd buy himself a fishing pole.

Homeless shelters in Traverse City.

There are certainly worse places to be homeless. A couple years ago I found a homeless guy wandering around my little town looking for a shelter from the bitter cold. I took him to the interfaith shelter in Jackson.

Madonna’s brother was on an episode of “Top Chef”. He acted spoiled, complained he should have been served first since he was Madonnas brother, It made me sick.
This was quite a few years ago, five or six.

I don’t “admire” Madonna. All I’m saying is her brother is responsible for his situation and no one short of God can “save” him. From what other’s say, Madonna tried to help him in the past.

Like others here, my beliefs are not fluid depending upon who we’re talking about. If Rush Limbaugh’s brother, David, were in the same situation (addicted and in the streets) most of us would say the same things.

He’s a homeless alcoholic in northern Michigan????? Obviously, he has bad judgement. Go to Florida or Hawaii...good weather and good “benefits”.

Madonna’s brother needs to look at that guy in the mirror, not his sister. Until someone is ready to help themself and quit denying who is the problem, aid of other’s usually just allows them to continue their bad habits. Even Yeshua cries out for someone to come to Him, and waits until they do.
