And that’s the unnerving part. The NKs really are willing to die or kill for their cause and undergo an unbelieveable amount of hardship to do just that. They’re well, one big Jim Jones like cult. And right now, they’re not going to drink the damn cyanide, they’re about to kill everybody else they can, then drink the damn cyanide.

They think we’re satan. The literal devil folks. Here’s a look into that mindset:

If they believe the world to be Satan then they should sustain their own state and live with it. If they choose to step over that state line, then they step into different worlds.

Their call. Stay isolated and do your thing, open up and join 98.5% of the world. You might get a basketball and food for your people.

I have always felt that you can find core truths in many places, sometimes even in very unusual places, but that doesn’t take away from their truth. The line from the Movie 'Open Range'; where Charlie says: "There's somethings that gnaw on a man worse than dieing." is one such core truth I have found in a movie. There are many others.

The one I want you to think of now is from the movie 'The Dark Knight'; Where Alfred Pennyworth says: "Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn."

It could be very well lil' kim is at the end he can't go on sooner or later North Korea will collapse and what happens to him when it does? He wouldn't be the first mass murder to want to go out taking as many with him as he could. And unfortunately he has the means to take a good many with him.

Are you implying that we negotiate stupid things and basketball or just glass his ass?

No, because the North Koreans have been tunneling in the gun positions into the side of the mountains overlooking Seuol for a half century now. The South Koreans realize their cities will likely suffer severe damage and have taken some civil defense measures in response. However, some South Koreans see the eventuality of a final war with North Korea as the perhaps inevitable consequence of a failure to persuade North Korea to reform its ways. North Korea may eventually commit the equivalent of “suicide by cop” in the effort to extricate itself from the endless nightmare it has been living.

I am saying like most mass murders there may not be a thing other then taking him out that we can do and taking him out wouldn't be that easy or even a viable option, because who knows where he is. Look how long it took to find Sadam or Den Laden. He could unleash a lot of hell before we got him.

That's my opinion as well. See Post #85 this thread.

He’s a crazy man with nukes. What more needs to be said. Can he delivery them to US soil? Who knows? Can he devastate the South Korea and punish Japan? Almost certainly.

Maybe. We live in a dangerous world. When my State Department has less of a response than a power forward from the Chicago Bulls or Detroit Pistons, I could care less.

Shoot the bastard. You know we can. We won’t.

Agreed. I think there is one $50,000 question noone’s asking here. What will China do?

Yes, she can sit back and do nothing. Might suit her interests fine. But here comes a few issues with that.

1. All of this is happening uncomfortably close to China’s industrial heartland (Manchuria)

2. The refugee traffic from North Korea will be massive, and the Chinese aren’t going to want 2.5 million potential refugees camped out on their border because of this.

3. The Chinese aren’t going to want the economic and physical destruction that a war will bring to South Korea. She’s an important trading partner. China is South Korea’s #1 export market as of 2010.

4. If little Kim uses chem or bugs, that stuff can drift with the wind...prevailing winds are towards Japan, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility that some of it drifts into China.

In short, the Chinese have a LOT of reasons to end any NK plans before they start. Why they don’t is an interesting speculation?

What you need to get interested in is why NK is acting out. This is more important than anything.

I say let them behave the way they want, now tell us why?

I’d say they’re acting out of sheer desperation. For some reason that makes sense only to Kim and the higher party and military officials, they’ve got their national identity wrapped up in this need to be a nuclear power. They’re willing to starve their own people and run the country into the ground to achieve such a goal, and if they fail, then oh well, then they can bring the rest of the country with them on the proverbial deathride.

I am most certain that the US has invited them into the international trade environment. The idiots refused over and over. They have isolated themselves and therefore have nowhere to go.

Pretending to use a capability we would displace 7000ft over their nation is quite ridiculous.
