Well I'd like to dump most of it on you since a big part of our fiscal mess is due to Medicare and Medicaid costs as well as the costs of the wars in Irag and Afghanistan, and we were blessed with a Texan in the White House for both of those. But I think assigning it proportion to population would be good enough.
Youd have to arbitrarily exclude or include variables such as productivity, contribution to the economy, and how much of the debt was spent for the benefit of the state in question.
No you don't.
You cant do that, and you know it. Youre just being that stupid selfish crab in the bucket reaching up and pulling the escapee down.
I'm just trying to keep the "escapee" from leaving town and leaving us pay the entire bill when they drew benefit from the spending as well.
I certainly see where you’re coming from.
And, yes, you are that stupid selfish crab.
Wonder when old man Potter going to come around and ask for 30% of my savings to keep afloat the banks

Federal land in TX is relatively small but does include just under 3,000,000 acres. Mainly because Texas was a republic before it became a state, thus the land remained with the state.
Texas is a negative receiver in Fed dollars versus what Texas pays in to the Feds. Texas 20 year period, 1990-2009 paid in 389.8 $bn more to the feds that was sent back to the state.
I agree Texas won't secede but does make for interesting conversation.
You do realize that for every $1 Texas “receives” from the federal government, it gives more than that $1 TO the federal government. So, if Texas quit sending money to the US Government, and the US Government quit sending money to Texas, the state would come out ahead.

Nice try. Texas receives 35 percent of its revenue from the Federal Government.
I heard (sorry, can’t remember where) that China is now demanding debt/loan payments in gold.
I think it’s begining, folks. Be prepared.
