The reason I voted for George W. Bush, my first Republican ever (but not last) was NOT that I agreed with every single thing he stood for, but because he had thought about what he believed, he believed it, and he thought for himself.
I do not look for any spokesman, any candidate to match up with my stance on every single topic. I look for someone with convictions that are moral and the courage of his convictions.
I do not care a fig if Dr. Carson believes in the 2nd Amendment or not. It is not one person’s decision to keep it or not. It is in the Constitution. He is a wonderfully thoughtful, courageous man who is willing to risk being attacked to save this country. What’s not to like?
Oh I have no problem with Ben Carson. I’m a huge fan. I just know a lot on this board were soured about some of his quotes on the 2nd Amendment.
However, he just a HUGE stand against same sex marriage on national TV, on the day the SCOTUS is hearing prop8.
I completely agree with you. I’m reading his book America The Beautiful and he has had an amazing life and has accomplished so much against the odds, the opposite of Odumbo.
I have so much respect for him and his grasp of the issues that face America today. If anyone has the opportunity to read his book, I highly recommend it.
Guns and Dr. Carson: I heard him speak about guns and he said people had a right to defend themselves but he worried about having guns in a city where so much violence could be done. He said guns were fine in a country setting, but not in a city.
