CBS opened Sunday night's episode of "The Amazing Race" with an apology to veterans offended by the previous week's installment, which took place in Vietnam.
"Parts of last Sunday's episode, filmed in Vietnam, were insensitive to a group that is very important to us -- our nation's veterans," host Phil Keoghan read in a statement from producers and the network. "We want to apologize to veterans -- particularly those who served in Vietnam -- as well as to their families and any viewers who were offended by the broadcast. All of us here have the most profound respect for the men and women who fight for our country."
The segment in question took place at the site of a crashed American B-52 bomber, now a memorial, where contestants went to pick up a clue. Two Americans were killed when the bomber went down.

Good for Bob. He got an apology out of them.
Screw the commie broadcast system and all their shows.
I’m surprised they didn’t get Jane Fonda to hand out the clues.
“Screw the commie broadcast system and all their shows.”

I do not know who produces the show, but I think it is the same that I have seen on my satellite (G-Sat).
It consist of western kids running around cities in Asia, picking up clues to each of numerous points. I guess the winners get money.
Seems to be obviously staged, and not worth watching.
Turned off the TV in 2008 when MSM presstitutes helped elect the polidiot precedent......
Voted with my dollars and walked away from that BS !
Stay Safe !
Good. Now apologize for having Walter Cronkite lie about the Vietnam war.
Oh I know what the show did.
I've read stories and heard all about it on radio and FOX.
I have never watched the show, and never will.
I didn't watch it before their ugly attempt to generate controversy, and won't watch it in future.
And no, I don't accept their “apology”.
It wasn't an accident, or even an inadvertent insult, genuinely regretted.
It was a calculated and scripted intentional insult, that failed to generate the positive responce they actively sought.
They will intentionally do it again. I very much doubt they also privately asked forgiveness from God.God might forgive them, if they had asked it of Him.
Seriously? You give Bob Beckel credit for CBS apologizing?
99% of TV is pure crap
I do. he was on the story from day one. Bob may be a liberal but he is what I call a honest liberal.
Actually, Bob Beckel is one of the last few remaining Democrats who hates communism. A rarity. In fact, when he dies (may he have a long and happy life), there will not be any Democrats left who disdain communism.
This Vietnam war vet (not a Vietnam vet, mind you. There's a difference, I was never boots in country) Does NOT accept this weak and insincere apology.
All of us here have the most profound respect for the men and women who fight for our country/
Liar.
.
What Bob Beckel considers “communism” and what a Patriotic American considers “communism” are worlds apart.
After living the Obamaville dream since 2008 and watching a Majority of Voters reward our little Mulatto Marxist another four years to ruin what’s left of the America I grew up in, I now consider every Obama Voting Democrat a Commie Bastard, but that’s just little old me.
Beckel is just one of the more obvious Useful Idiots out there. How Hannity and Levin consider him a “friend” is beyond my limited comprehension.
“CBS”:’’ Constant BullSh!t’’ If veterans were so important to CBS they wouldn’t have run the damn video in the first place.
Uncle Ho was just as brutal as Uncle Joe in making sure he had a compliant people. If you don't believe me read about the Hue massacre.
They actually have the most family friendly shows out of all the networks. NCIS, NCIS LA, Criminal Minds, and many others. I think they made an error and made an apology. I doubt NBC would have done the same. CBS is the only worthwhile broadcast network.
Honest liberal? Fat bob beckel? The same fat bob beckel that stole a check from his ex-wife's purse to pay for a $1,500 hooker and then lied under oath?
OK, I see your point, he is as honest as any liberal can get.
Ping. I thought the apology was well done and I was glad that they did so.
