It was looking like the Islamic terrorist assault in Syria would peter out and they would fail to achieve the takeover. If Assad is dead — a big if at this point — then we may yet see another step toward the Caliphate succeed.

Who would rise up to be the “Defender of the Alawites” if Assad ends up dead?
And that will be a win for the Muslim Brotherhood, Obama and Leftists everywhere.
0bama's three objectives are:
1)Destroy Israel.
2)Facilitate the establishment of a mid-east Caliphate.
3)Bankrupt America.

I'm all for that! If the Nazis hadn't run Germany, we could never have beaten them. Islam is worse: it's a religion, not just a political ideology. (And a lot more people.)
The only way we would ever fight Islam, is by fighting a political entity. Even then it would be very rough going, considering the numbers and the water-hearted approach to war currently in vogue.
