Nelson Riddle had handed Frank Sinatra a pleasant little tune to record, but Frank thought it was rather vapid. In fact he didn’t see the point of it. Riddle assured him he would like the final product.

Nancy Sinatra was behind this little practical joke, and “Uncle Nelson” went along for the ride. Nancy dubbed in a harmonic line in a separate session, and the final product was presented to Frank, who ended up liking it.

Neither of them thought it was hit material, and they both ended up being wrong. On its way to #1, it jumped to #29 this week. (A lot of us referred to it as “The Incest Song”.)
