The Five Royales scored with
Dedicated to the One I Love in the waning days of 1957. You may remember that this is the group that did
Laundromat Blues in 1953, a song that for some reason was considered controversial, even though it's only about washing clothes.
In 1967, I preferred the Shirelles' version of Dedicated to the One I Love, which you could hear on KWIZ or on KHJ during weekends, when their jocks played "oldies."

Pigeons plot in secrecy, and hamsters turn on frequently, is one of my favorite marijuana references from the Sixties. Roy Halee produced this, and the other tunes on the Bookends disk, quite brilliantly. This came in at #58 on its way to the Top 20.

Good evening, Luv!
*HUGS*
Just a short visit tonight - didn't get off work until after 8:00 this evening. Didn't sleep well last night - will have to pack it in early.
Where are the survivors of the massacre at Benghazi? The silence of the Obama Regime on this question is deafening!

Technically The Buggles was a duo. The girls were just decoration and window dressing. Both Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes ended up in YES replacing Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman in 1980 on the album Drama and later on 90120. Downes went on to join Asia with Yes guitarest Steve Howe where he remains today and Horn went on to groups like Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Art of Noise.

John Loudermilk was a gifted country songwriter and performer, best known for his hit, The Language of Love, in 1961. (I served under his cousin Roy, who was my battalion commander at Fort Lewis.) This was his biggest success.
The Casinos were a throwback to the doo-wop era. This was their only hit, and it made #6 this week.
