I was absolutely stunned the first time I saw that video. I never thought I would live long enough to see the day the Four Seasons would be worked up as satire.

The song is far more sophisticated than anything the Crewe-Gaudio or Linzer-Randall teams would have written. None of them would have thought of those key changes, E to C to A, back to E.

One of the greatest videos ever made.

I’m sure mylife would take exception, but he’s always grouchy about Billy Joel, lol. I’ve been a Billy fan since Captain Jack, back in 1972, because I love Liberty’s drum style. He’s crisp, clean and precise. Much like Springsteen - I don’t love Bruce, but Max Weinburg is so awesome at being a sideman. The hit-making drummers lead their bands without ever letting it show.
