The dramatic shift in the Republican Party on immigration continued Tuesday, as Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a conservative tea party icon and possible 2016 presidential contender, endorsed an overhaul of the nations immigration laws that would allow the nations estimated 11 million illegal immigrants to obtain legalized status. Immigration will not occur until conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. Thats why Im here today: to begin that conversation and become part of the solution, he said in a breakfast speech Tuesday morning before the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in Washington.

they all say whatever they want, but he has voiced no understanding of the situation.
The border states have illegals forcing their culture on the US citizens - hard working people, veterans, the elderly- who pay their bills.
There is no way they are going to act like Americans after being rewarded for this.
There is no way they’ll vote for republicans, they hat republicans. 76% voted for BO, and they’re supposedly Catholic.
Paul and anyone who tries to tackle this problem without going into the situation a la the Pope, and asking the Americans they’ve sworn to represent, not the illegals, will be wrong on this.
He’s treating it like it’s academic, but he does not represent the good citizens that this will affect.
He’s being naïve and very dangerous to our country.
Operation Wetback proved it can be done. Every major city in the country has plans to evac the entire population. It is total crap for anyone to say it can’t be done.
I’m good with your plan. But the people who say we ‘can’t are lying. We put men on the moon and to the bottom of the deepest spot in the ocean.
IT CAN BE DONE. We just don’t WANT to.
I heard him on Hannity’s TV show about two weeks ago and he was dead set on having the border secured and confirmed before any other part of the process was implemented. We can either believe he means it or not.
And Rand Paul is not championing that.
Then there is nothing to discuss.
He also told us he was against Hagel...then voted for him.
It’s called cut off the welfare, cut off the jobs, cut off the freebies at schools and hospitals and they will pretty much go home on their own.
“they both support paths to citizenship for illegals.”
False.
I don’t say we can’t but I do say we shouldn’t. For starters it would cost too much. For nothing since doing what I suggest would get it done.
The people who are affected are frightened by the audacity of these people and frightened because people like Rand Paul and Lady Graham represent the illegals, NOT the people whom the illegals are pushing around.
It is wrong, what they’re doing and what they’ve done.
They do NOT realize the issue.
It will happen soon. Once the collapse hits. They will leave.
I guess that’s another reason to bring it on sooner rather than later. Sad isn’t it?
By God I don’t want ANY legalized status until I have a 100% guarantee that you have to prove citizenship to vote. If the USSC throws out the Arizona law than all bets are off folks. Dems will make sure that every one of these illegals get registered and vote in 2014. If they pass this law it is over folks and that includes you too Rand.
Basically what I want to do is to expand the worker visa program, have border security and then as far as how people become citizens, there already is a process for how people become citizens. The main difference is I wouldnt have people be forced to go home. Youd just get in line. But you get in the same line everyone is in.
I believe he means it. I also think he’s really naive on this subject. He should know that over half of the immigrant community is on some kind of social services. He thinks they all ‘work’.
Do I really need to say it again?
So, there is nothing here to discuss is there?
We shouldn’t send billions to terrorists to kill us. We SHOULD spend that money on deportation and an armed fence.
>There is a severe lack of representation for people who do not wish this invasion to become sanctioned.<
.
Politicians have given up on this issue hoping that these illegals will some day vote for them.
They’re dreaming.
He is not looking at the economics of it. He is not looking at the cultural implications, but they matter a lot.
Immigration is what our country is about. This is not immigration.
Sure. How we stop RP from going Fullmetal Democrat.
