DENVER (AP) Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper will sign legislation Wednesday that sets limits on ammunition magazines and expands background checks for firearms, marking a Democratic victory in a state where gun ownership is a treasured right and Second Amendment debate has played out in the wake of two mass shootings.
The measures proposed are some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, and their passage comes after weeks of tense legislative battles. Republicans and gun rights supporters put up a major fight against the measures in this politically moderate state, while Democrats made them the centerpieces of a package of legislative proposals drafted in reaction to shooting rampages at a suburban Denver movie theater and a Connecticut elementary school last year.
Hickenlooper spokesman Eric Brown confirmed Monday that the governor would sign the measures.
Colorados gun controls, which become effective July 1, are the first beyond the East Coast approved this year.

A Colorado-based magazine manufacturer said it would leave the state if the new restrictions were passed, taking hundreds of jobs with it. Democrats tried to ease the concerns from Magpul Industries, saying the company can still manufacture higher-capacity magazines if they were sold out of state.

No need to be sorry. I thought it was funny. :)
When I read these article I order more. ;-)
Magpul said in so many words that the CO Dems are hypocrites.
I hope the CO COM/DEMS are “toast” too.
You are a dem troll, or you are truly insane.
When it comes to owning “pre-ban” magazines there is no tomorrow! heh
I have personally urged our Colorado State legislators to hold the ballot initiative for the 2014 elections.
Let this initiative be the catalyst for ridding Colorado of this liberal plague, at both the State and Federal level.
Is this what you moderates wanted?
The hardest left wing government in American history?
Magpul should manufacture a commemorative mag and name it...
the "Thirty-Won."
Colorado will forever own the first example of job-killing from the "hysteria of `13."
.
If I was Magpul, I'd rent a sign truck tomorrow, and park it outside his office, alongside all the media vehicles that will be there. Just a big "So long, suckers!" :)
You may only have one bullet in your front pocket at any one time Barny!
Ah states, the experimental laboratories of American governance.
magpul is showing us all how it’s done. no compromise.
Lickenpooper is a bought-and-paid-for whore. He’s the one that owned the restaurant that employed the illegal alien that shot two cops and then said illegal fled to Mexico where he couldn’t be extradited for the death penalty.
everything a leftist does you got to make them feel the heat in some way. at bottom the’re weak, feckless cowards. they like to insulate themselves away from the people. they are afraid of confrontation in the main. that is why they have to be confronted. when they are confronted, the others see it and are fearful of getting the same treatment.
They have an awesome rig they’ve been parking in the capitol.
“Colorado governor to sign into law gun measures on magazine limits, expanded background checks “..............
And, by signing this bill he may have also signed to the end of his being Governor, along with a number of the demodummies who wrote the bill and ramrodded it through. I DO HOPE that “old school” Coloradoan’s wakes up at voting time.
That’s the end of mass shootings in Colorado.
I will sign any and every recall petition i can find. Anyone that voted for this will never get my vote again - not that any of these rats did in the first place. I will not comply, obey, nor submit.
