I have long hoped for a time when the left's coalition of special interest groups (gays, feminists, greens, la razas, peaceniks, unionistas, academics etc.) became a coalition of competing interests.
I have also long been disappointed that it hasn't happened yet. Both history and logic suggest it's inevitable, but for the sake of this country, the implosion of the left can't come soon enough.

It happened here in NJ, as teachers’ unions got 5% raises with property taxes capped at 2%; to balance the budget, thousands of cops and firemen and untenured teachers have lost their jobs over the last few years. Those jobs will never come back, either; the populations they “served” are fleeing the state (and we lost an electoral vote to prove it).
