Marco Rubio takes second place -

Sen. Rand Paul won the 2013 Washington Times-CPAC presidential preference straw poll Saturday, and Sen. Marco Rubio was a close second, easily outdistancing the rest of the field and signaling the rise of a new generation of conservative leaders who will take the Republican Party into the 2016 election.

Mr. Paul won 25 percent of the vote, and Mr. Rubio collected 23 percent. Former Sen. Rick Santorum was third with just 8 percent, New JerseyGov. Chris Christie — who was not invited to speak at the three-day Conservative Political Action Conference — was next with 7 percent, and Rep. Paul D. Ryan, the GOP’s vice presidential nominee last year, was fifth with 6 percent.

LMAO, sore losers are just sad. Rubio came in second so I’m guessing you support him. Coulter was right. Rubio is off the list.

Ok, he actually won twice when his only competitors were Romney, Huckabee and some other guys who shouldn’t have been there.

You get caught being a moron and somehow you can conjure who I support? GFY prick. What did you say?

It’s very unfortunate that people make up BS and post it here to misinform everybody else.

LOL! Go look in the mirror senior uninformed voter.

It could be that they want to see more of Ted Cruise than just 3 months of politics. He may do better as the years go on. Just a thought....I certainly could be wrong.... :-)

Coulter would not say anything about Rand Paul. Both Coulter and Palin said positive things about Cruz. Cruz devoted a lot of his speech, (no teleprompter or notes) to Rand Paul.\\

Who cares about Coulter. She is pathetic and was a Bush apologist for many years. I can’t stand her.

Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz are the future. Imagine, Republicans that can actually speak in complete sentences without falling down!!! They are not monolithic, but there is enough overlap that they can advance the agenda of limited government. A conservative consensus needs to form about immigration, and foreign policy needs some foundational work. Frankly, the main agenda is probably now one of averting financial disaster, or cleaning up after it. Sarah Palin will also play a big role, and there are governors (Walker) who could also be players. Lots of talent in our dugout, and we need to add more in 2014.

The first step toward 2016 is defeating Jeb Bush and Chris Christie before they ever get started. That will need to be done by the likes of Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity. Those senators will have their hands full doing their jobs.

Marco Rubio, just what we need: another amnesty loving open borders phony.

“I like both of them very much, too; and I will probably defend them on FR when I think the naysayers are jumping the shark. Nonetheless, it’s way too early to get that enthusiastic about either of them.

We have plenty of time to watch and question. “

I wish people would listen to you about that!

This is so great. Paul is now the leader of the conservatives!! Marco RINO ain’t going anywhere with AMNESTY!!
our new VP candidate is of course Dr. Ben Carson. It is sad but Ted Cruz is not able to run for Vice President because he is not a “Natural Born” citizen. Too bad. I like him but we must follow the strict language in the constitution even if the Femocrats have a Kenyan born liar for their guy.

that would work for me, along with Senate Majority Leader Rand Paul (or Marco Rubio), and Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.

Another scenario: Scott Walker and Ted Cruz. Executive experience, and it puts Wisconsin seriously in play. We have some options.

Rand has no interest in being Senate Majority leader. He wants to be president. In 2016.
