Feds buying 100 years worth of ammo

When the numbers are put in perspective, the federal governments extraordinary buildup of ammunition looks even more ominous than critics already have portrayed it.
An analysis by Forbes contributor Ralph Benko shows the 1.6 billion rounds of ammo that the government is acquiring would be enough for more than 100 years of training. As WND previously reported, it also would be enough ammunition to fight a war for more than 20 years.
It would give the federal government enough ammunition to shoot every American more than five times. Concerned about surveillance drones, tanks in the streets and gun confiscation? Find out HOW AMERICA IS BECOMING A POLICE STATE in this shocking WND special report.
The Department of Homeland Security argues it is buying in bulk to save money, explaining it uses as many as 15 million rounds a year for training law enforcement agents.
Forbes columnist Benko, who worked for two years in the U.S. Department of Energys general counsels office in its procurement and finance division, doubts the governments explanation.
To claim that its to get a low price for a ridiculously wasteful amount is an argument that could only fool a career civil servant, he writes.
But its not just the amount of ammo the feds are buying, its the type of ammo thats also is causing concern.
WND has reported the DHS order apparently......

South Vietnam fell once American logistics was pulled. So much for your argument there. I think you’ll find logistics was key in every takeover, unless you childishly believe bullets and bandages grow on trees.

I was just going to ask the same question. Where are they storing it? Just curious.

Uh huh! And, the U.S. is the only place where bullets and bandages are made. Those who do not believe that the government is capable, at the least, to attempt to militarily suppress the American people are deluding themselves.

I always like to ask if you was to go back to say 1928-9 and address a group of leading German Jewish professionals about what was going to happen to them and their people within the next ten years, what do you think their reaction would be? And you could ask 1.6 billion times, and the answer will still be that DHS didn't buy those "tanks," the Marines did.
I say it would be a lot like yours.
Here, you are almost correct, given my reply above.

I told him that the DHS has recently purchased 1.6 billion rounds of ammo. And, they had also just purchased 2,717 MRAPs - heavily armored military vehicles. He was dumbstruck by this revelation.More likely he reported you under "see something say something" and Wally's got you in their facial recognition database.

If that was the case, then, I’ve been in Wally’s facial recognition data base for years. Considering what I’ve posted on FR and Facebook, I’m sure I am on the government’s hit list.

FWIW I know about all of that history and have said nothing, in the entire 12 years I have been a FReeper, to indicate in the slightest that I don’t think it’s possible here. You might save yourself some typing next time by thinking a little bit.

Yeah, no kidding. I don’t think they will send tanks or F-16s to confiscate my pistols and rifles.

We are unique in history in that we are the most complexly capitalist and technologically advanced civilization that has ever existed. You bomb and destroy that infrastructure and it won’t be long before commerce grinds to a halt, and you have no tax money to pay your military with.
That and it would inflame Americans to the point of secession and they would go after the military with ruthless abandon united in purpose. We tend to forget just how many ex-mil and very skilled intelligent people are out there. I agree, that seems like a very unlikely scenario.

Yep. There was a very good thread
here yesterday where the ways and means of defeating a bloated tyrant were discussed. Much more realistic than the hysterical hand wringing going on this one.

I dont understand why no one will simply put the numbers and the information in a story so that we can figure out the truth of this thing.
What are the past records of purchases, have they normally used hollow points for practice, are these purchases or some sort of price guarantee, how many personnel are expected to use how many of these rounds annually?
Great questions. The MSM obviously wants to white wash the whole thing, but another entity (conservative) should be able to get the info...one would hope.

The Constitution is almost meaningless, our borders are wide open and we will grant all here illegally full rights and citizenship, we've lost control over our elections, our bill of rights are under assault by those who swore an oath not to do that, they are draining our treasury and bankrupting our financial systems and refuse to pass a budget demanded by the Constitution, they've taken over our medical systems and records, plus education at all levels, and own the judiciary and have usurped the presidency with someone no one can or will verify with tangible documentation we all can agree about and the one stream media is totally under GuvCo control.
Unless anyone has any objections, we're almost done here. What's the final countdown clock say?
All that's left is their disarming Americans, and their takeover and our surrender is complete.
That is an accurate (albeit depressing) summary. I think will be teetering on the edge of the cliff for longer than most are predicting - but not by much. Five years perhaps?

All it will take is a strong leader to invoke Nationalism as a replacement for religion. So Nationalism + socialism = Nazi?

If you dont believe this will happen prior to the 2016 election, then please explain to me the purpose of all these things that have been strategically placed at this time.
A family member, a quiet stoic and rational member of the Great Generation who is the last person anyone would call a a conspiracy theorist, surmised after the election that Obama will never leave office.
All these recent events are just proving his point.

I wouldn't call Obama a strong leader. He can hardly speak without his teleprompter. I think he's the puppet and someone else is pulling his strings.
BUT the sheeple seem to think he is. At least, that's what the MSM tells them to think.

“In Hitlers Germany that is exactly what happened. Today a person is a cook or teacher and tomorrow they wear a black uniform with lethal authority.”
You’re comparing apples and oranges, buddy.
German leftists were steeped in a warrior culture that included blut und bolden (blood and soil) Teutonic mysticism and Lebensraum.
American leftists are brainwashed to hate guns, avoid fighting and carry a purse while wearing lipstick and eye shadow.
There’s no way on Earth to extrapolate the German leftist experience onto the American leftist. American leftists are weaklings compared to the Germans of the 1930s.

And I say the first one to use a NAZI analogy has lost the debate. You could also pick a thousand other times people have predicted doom and it didn't happen. Prudent perperation is great, but assuming the worst is inevitable is an overeaction, and not a great way to live your life, IMHO.

“American leftists are brainwashed to hate guns...”
I though so, too, except after asking a few rather large gun dealers that question, one perhaps the largest in the nation and certainly in the top 5, all claimed liberal verus conservative gun buying has been 50/50. I was even there one night when an older guy said he was an Obama voter yet was buying a gun because he knew Obama would ban them. Go figure. Liberals are the most hate-filled mean-spirited violent murderers. They always have been, from Lenin to Stalin to Pol Pot to all the great liberals.
Liberals not violent? Really? Have you been paying attention at all? They riot, they break things, they tear things up, they call for killings and “bloody revolutions”, they are EXTREMELY violent.
