I always like to ask if you was to go back to say 1928-9 and address a group of leading German Jewish professionals about what was going to happen to them and their people within the next ten years, what do you think their reaction would be?

And I say the first one to use a NAZI analogy has lost the debate. You could also pick a thousand other times people have predicted doom and it didn't happen. Prudent perperation is great, but assuming the worst is inevitable is an overeaction, and not a great way to live your life, IMHO.

“And I say the first one to use a NAZI analogy has lost the debate”

Why? That is just debate tripe byt hose trying to seem experienced at debating. The fact is Nazi Germany is an excellent example to study. It wasn’t by any imagination a one-off situation but one of modern human history.

Does the rule also apply if they use a Commie analogy?

That’s the thing about opinions isn’t it.

I also noticed you didn’t amswer the question, the person that fails to directly answer the question in my experince is the one who lost the debate.
