What a load of crap. During the summer months, every electric light in the Northern Hemisphere burns one less hour because of daylight savings time. This comes at a time when electric grids are already heavily burdened by air conditioners. If anything, we should be extending the use of daylight savings time.
During World War II, the British were using “double daylight savings time” and we could do it too. Sometime around May 23, we set the clocks forward an additional hour and set them back sometime around July 18.

No they don’t. All the studies show that DST has no effect. The fact of the matter is when people are awake, regardless of what the clock says and where the sun is, they have the lights on. All the excuses for DST are lies, it’s stupid, accomplishes nothing. All it accomplishes is making you change your clock twice a year because the government said so.

Daylight saving time “saves” nothing.
The sun comes up and goes down at the same time. The only thing that is “changed” is the hands on the clock.
DST is the stupidest idea ever thought of.
Kill it for good. We will adjust and think daylight not 8:00AM.

Well, how about instead of creating the fiction where midnight isn't at midnight and noon isn't at noon, we just go to work an hour earlier and go to bed an hour earlier? (I do realize that taking this to its logical conclusion, time zones would also be obliterated, but I think dumpng DST would be a happy medium).

AMEN! I could jog outdoors until 10 pm!

If DST ever made sense, based on saving on electric lighting -- it makes only 1/4 of that much sense today. CFL and LED lights use 1/4 the electricity of the now-banned incandescent bulbs. That leaves only 1/4 as much electricity for DST to "save".

It is has been proven the DST costs more energy that it is supposed to save. Take a Taiwan for example were energy is expensive. If DST saved energy, wouldn’t they be on DST.
