People talked about God’s Mercy.
People said based on his life, he is probably in hell.
Not ONE person said he was damned, as a matter or course, they all said it is probably, based on his own life.
Nor did anyone CALL for him to be damned, which was the original accusation.
Talk about touching a nerve. There were a couple posters mentioning mercy. At no point did I refer to them. I was merely highlighting how when a very evil person, nominally Catholic, has a deathbed conversion, suddenly there’s no middle ground between Satan gnawing you for eternity and instant beatification. There’s a reason the church preaches eternal and temporal punishment for sins, exact
ly for cases such as this.
To say that there is no “stoking up the coals” on this thread is ridiculous.
As well as this:
Genesis 6:3Then the LORD said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."
Then it got shortened:
Psalm 90:10
The length of our days is seventy years--or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
It appears that Hugo lost his 'strength'...
