An 86-year-old Minnesota woman who suffers from dementia is facing a felony voting fraud charge after she says she accidentally voted twice.
Margaret Schneider tells MyFoxTwinCities.com she forgot she had already sent in her absentee ballot when she went to her polling place in November.
"It's very hard to remember everything," Schneider said.
Schneider says the matter is particularly upsetting to her because she considers herself a proud American and has voted in every election.

She must have voted for Romney.
Sadly I don’t doubt her story.
If she voted twice because of dementia, that sounds like a solid defense she can use in court.
Ha ! That was my first thought too as I read the title....
...anyone seen the results of the story we had a few weeks ago where the woman proudly announced she voted 6 times for Odungo?
Is dementia code word for Liberalism?
“She must have voted for Romney.”
How true! The black poll worker who voted multiple times for hussein and helped others to do the same was proud of it and will get off scott free.
So how come the polling place officers didn't tell her when she showed up at the poling place that she'd already voted. There is some weird angle going on with this story. 10's of thousands of malicious voter fraud incidents and the press and the prosecutor are making a case out of this old woman suffering with dementia.
That happened in Cincinnati and it is still under investigation.
County Attorney Michelle Zehnder Fischer, you will remember your community, and your community will remember you.
poor woman had asked the same question...
A white woman, she probably voted for Romney.
My advice to the old lady is to plead guilt and hope she gets life.
Her worries are then over, 3 square meals a day a place to sleep and the State pays her medical bills.
The old lady is right, they should have just rfused to let her vote again or at the least made her vote provisional. The mistake here is not with the old lady , but with the workers at the polls
I saw this one on the news this morning. She clearly wasn’t proud of it and wants to know why they didn’t stop her.
whats to investigae.she admitted it,but she is a negro
The voting laws where I live state that if you vote AB and are seen on election day in a position where you obviously could have voted at the polls, then your AB can be contested (it will cost the accuser $10 to file the complaint). Therefore, if you file an absentee ballot and your schedule changes to allow you to vote at the polls, you are supposed to show up at your precinct and cast your ballot normally.
It is up to the poll workers, specifically the Judge of Elections and the Democrat and Republican Inspectors, to destroy the absentee ballot.
There are state election laws out there where this woman did nothing wrong.
Prosecute most of Philly then we’ll discuss this poor soul.
DNC media and democrat propaganda piece designed to make others think voting fraud is no big deal...
To me, this actually illustrates that the democrats are in fact guilty of widespread purposeful voting fraud. Otherwise, they would not need such a story to “throw off” the rest of us from being concerned.
It’s amazing at how good they’re getting at emotionally manipulating us for their own political ends.
It’s almost like a poker game to them. We come up with a pair of aces and eights (Obama poll worker proudly voting six time); they come up with a pair of kings and three aces (old poor SENILE white woman accidently votes for Romney twice, now getting the third degree from law officials ‘cause, “Hey, you Republicans DEMAND we prosecute voter fraud!”)
That’s how they KEEP the people off their tracks....
Uh, no - she's as white as her German surname would suggest. IMO, the investigation should not focus on the voter in this case, but on the poll worker(s) who handed out a ballot when a vote was already recorded next to the voter's name.
Great post. They are so transparent.
