This is getting a little creepy. According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm. DHS also purchased 2,700 Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicles (MRAP). (30-35,0000 drones are on order--being built in Starkville, Miss.)
Modern Survival Blog reported: The Department of Homeland Security (through the U.S. Army Forces Command) recently retrofitted 2,717 of these Mine Resistant Protected vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.
Although Ive seen and read several online blurbs about this vehicle of late, I decided to dig slightly deeper and discover more about the vehicle itself.
The new DHS sanctioned Street Sweeper (my own slang due to the gun ports) is built by Navistar Defense (NavistarDefense.com), a division within the Navistar organization. Under the Navistar umbrella are several other companies including International Trucks, IC Bus (they make school buses), Monaco RV (recreational vehicles), WorkHorse (they make chassis), MaxxForce (diesel engines), and Navistar Financial (the money arm of the company).
DHS even released a video on their newly purchased MRAPs. LINK AT WEB SITE ---Via Pat Dollard:
The MRAP featured in the video was in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Law Enforcement Day which was held at a local area Target Store. This MRAP is stationed in El Paso, Texas at The Homeland Security Investigations Office. MRAP is a Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicle.

And Hillary has to know that if Soros could threaten to kill Chelsea in 2008, to keep the Clintons from challenging Obamas eligibility, he can do the same thing any time in order to install Michelle

Source it.
It has also been said that 'rust never sleeps.' It seems it can have quite a bit of life to it!
May be? Really May?
What on earth does the DHS need with 2700 Armored Personell vehicles and a couple billion rounds 9 mil and 40 ammo? To collect taxes? Really? Do we have 2700 of these vehicles in combat?
The country is just too big........and there are far too many zombies and spikey-haired mutants.

You too have forgotten the avowed goal of at least 50% reduction in population by this bunch. They do not care a whit about the 95% of us who will comprise that 50%.
WTFU (Wake The F-— Up)
Thank you MrB, for bringing a little reality into the discussion.
If Freepers refuse to wake up and smell the coffee we truly are in deep dodo.
Some may recall I believed from the outset, that if he was elected, he had no intention of leaving office.
Glad to see you have figured that out.
Bingo!
How does he get the money approved for that purpose? Exactly.
I believe there were about 20,000 MRAPs built by mulitple OEMS including Oshkosh, Force Protection, Navistar and General Dynamics.
As I read the blog story, the Homie Sec vehicles are not new procurements but conversion of military units.
Given the drawdown in Iraq, I’m sure there is plenty of inventory available.
Face it, as long as they count the votes, it won't matter what you think of her.
That is definitely one of the many questions that could be asked.
I'll do my best.
You guys have something that will reach the altitude those drones operate at? No, didnt think so.
Sure Dorner...
What if this is all just a bad dream and we can click our heals and go back to Kansas?
Get real, wake up.
Read Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals and then you’ll know where I’m coming from.
I saw a whole train full of these things a few mos back. It was an eerie sight. I was out riding my bike in the middle of the night [long story]. The train was just sitting there, idling on the outskirts of town. Every car was a flatbed, and ea one carried a single light-armored vehicle. I stopped riding and just sat there staring. Never saw anything like it before—though I’ve seen one similar train since.
The feeling I got was, ‘This must the kind of thing people see during wartime. People probably saw trains loaded similarly in pre-WWII Germany’. Don’t know if that’s true or not; that’s just the sense I had, as I stared at that long, long train, loaded solid w armored vehicles.
No one even bothers to try and explain how the won, manages to spend all this money when we control the house? We indeed suffered a Coup d'état in 08, and no one noticed except a few of us old fogies.
It doesn’t matter where they come from or how much they cost.
This is the type vehicle South Africa used during Apartheid to control crowds. In the video the officer says he can pack 11 guys inside. To fill all of them is 29700 troopers (SWAT).
You should have a warm feeling. Think of all the UAW paychecks those rigs generated...
