Beer drinkers in the US have filed a $5m lawsuit accusing Anheuser-Busch of watering down its beer.
The lawsuits, filed in Pennsylvania, California and other states, claim consumers have been cheated out of the alcohol content stated on beer labels.
The suit involves 10 Anheuser-Busch beers including Budweiser and Michelob.
Anheuser-Busch InBev have called the claims "completely false", and said in a statement "our beers are in full compliance with labelling laws".
The lawsuits are based on information from former employees at breweries owned by the multinational.
"Our information comes from former employees at Anheuser-Busch, who have informed us that, as a matter of corporate practice, all of their products mentioned [in the lawsuit] are watered down," lead lawyer Josh Boxer said.
The complaint claimed that "Anheuser-Busch employs some of most sophisticated process control technology in the world to precisely monitor the alcohol content at the final stages of production, and then adds additional water to produce beers with significantly lower alcohol contents than is represented on the the labels".

ZZ Top - Beer Drinkers & Hell Raisers
Busch I can drink, it’s cheap, it’s good and I can drink a frightening amount of beer. On special occasions I prefer either Belgian or certain US microbrews. This outfit is notorious. No surprises here. They bought Hoegardden and screwed with it too. I believe that situation was rectified one way or another.
My dear old mother used to set her hair with Brown Derby that she bought at Safeway! Bout all it was good for!
I like a good Franziskaner Hefe-Weiss. I don't know if I spelled it right, but stick a lemon wedge in and I'm good to go. Or I'll stick with a nice white wine. Yeah, I'm a girl. Budweiser was when I wanted to drink quantity not quality in those not so distant college days. Still, once in a while it was fine but do people really have to sue over Bud being watered down? Really? What was the clue, you need to drink the whole case to get a little tipsy?
I'll even throw in PBR, Schaeffer, and the reformulated Schiltz.
How about Ba Mư'o'i Ba (33)?
Ahh... Had forgotten my Samson beir history lesson!
Brewery foreman: “Betty, I’m so sorry to have to tell you this, but Barney fell in a vat and drowned, just a short while ago.
“No, he didn’t suffer. In fact it looks like he climbed out a couple times to pee.”
Next they will sue farmers for high water content in their watermelons.
Pisswater is pisswater no mater how much you spend on graphics.
Hamm’s wasn’t that bad compared to say, Utica Club, Schmidt’s, or Stroh’s.
I’ll even throw in PBR, Schaeffer, and the reformulated Schiltz.

There was also Grand Prize (3 quarts for 99 cents in late 1950s), Pearl, Blatz, Jax (I worked with a PHD Chemist who was part owner with his two sisters) and Cold Brau ($2.98 a case in the late 1950s when I was a young teen). ...Hard to believe that we drank that stuff, but pennies counted back then and gas was around 17 cents a gallon.
Funny... hipsters here hold a can of PBR as a fashion statement.
From the land of Sparkling Water
No it was
“From the land of sky blue waters” Hams the beer refreshing”
Does anyone drink Shitz anymore?
The market solves problems thaat lawsuits cannot.
Uh, shouldn't your information come from labratory testing a representative sample of bottled product, instead of from disgruntled union affiliated former employees?
It was watered down piss 40 years ago ...Can’t imagine what it tastes like now .
They should hope it’s something as wholesome as water diluting this beer. Just like European beef, perhaps they’ll find some “Extract of Clydesdale”.
Is it pronounced "greasy dick"? If I ever come across that one, I'll let my wife try it. Then I'll show her the label.
Spaten Lager fan here, that's my usual.
I gave up on American beers along time ago. My favorite is a big cold bottle of Corona.
