The Push to Normalize Polyamory Begins
national review ^ | 2/17/13 | Wesley J. Smith

You knew it was coming. Scientific American — which often pushes cultural agendas as much as scientific ideas — has an article informing us that polyamorous people have so much to teach the rest of us about life. From “The New Sexual Revolution: Polyamory May Be Good For You“ One thing that seems to unite the polyamorous community is a real enthusiasm for digging into emotions. Honesty, openness and communication are cornerstones for polyamorous relationships, Holmes has found. “They’re talking a lot, they’re negotiating a lot, they’re bringing their feelings to the table a lot,” he said.

I certainly don't agree that rich, powerful, adulterous men are better mating material genetically or in any other way. I'm one of those women who doesn't buy that and never will.

As for genetic testing in certain neighborhoods "proving" huge amounts of cuckoldry: I'd be skeptical of this so-called proof.

There's no up-side to these people and their families being genetically tested, no benefit for them: why would they consent to such a test? And it could only be done with consent.

And if they tested only consensually --- willing genetic sample donors --- how could the sample be either universal, or truly random? It would be a self-selected group, obvious volunteer-bias. This is methodologically bogus, the kind of fake research which is noised about by people promoting an agenda.

polyamory is apparently a “cleaned up” version of male and female bi-sexual sluttiness

Folks who will 'do' anyone.

Marriage defined as one man and one woman is an artifact of Catholicism. Now that we are hastening to build a post Christian world, it will be discarded.

It is not. It's not a Catholic idea, nor a Jewish one. Nobody can own it because it's a God idea.

It was instituted by God when He married the first couple He created and said in Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Do you feel that when this gets to be the next big thing, that Rabbis will hold fast to monogamy? Or do you think they will allow polygamy?

I don’t have any idea, nor do I care. Probably some will and some will not, just like any other group of religious leaders.

The comment I made was in response to whose idea monogamy was, and the answer is that it was God’s idea.

Compared to the disease vectoring and child rape incidence, and even allowing queers to adopt little boys, this is a minor concern by comparison.

I think you, metmom and vince ferrer, are both right in the sense that you're answering two different qurestions.

Whose idea was monogamy?

God.

Whose idea was it to make monogamy the basis of custom, culture, and law in Western Civilization?

In obedience to God, the Catholic Church.

Widespread STDs is the unspoken reason (at least unspoken by the media) that “health care” is such a big deal to the 20-something group.

40 yrs ago when I was in that age bracket, nobody gave a rip about “health care”.

I troll undercover on a forum largely occupied by 20-somethings. This is ignored by the MSM but it’s HUGE.

The MSM will never admit to the downsides of sexual practices they glorify.
