Apparently most of the destruction was caused by the force of the sonic boom as the meteor passed overhead.

The flash is the meteor literally exploding from overheating and overpressure; I'd suspect that's the cause of any damage, rather than a simple sonic boom (the meteor was still at a very high altitude at the time.

For some reason I can’t stream all of the videos, but the one item I was referring to was the video clip where the ground shook and the windows rattled several long moments after the streak passed overhead. I believe any explosion or impact took place miles away from where that video was filmed.

An airburst. Scientists think the Tunguska Event in 1908 was an airburst from a comet. Some think it may have been a piece of short period Comet Encke.

You’re right. Felix Baumgartner created a sonic boom falling to earth, and he didn’t explode.
