I think the police official police line will be to deny any attempt or effort to burn the structure. There would be no need to deny the burn out was deliberate, and intended to kill Dorner, if there was no risk of legal fallout for that mode of deadly force.
I think that’s the point.
We’ve seen way too many times the intentional killing of a suspect through burning, and if it wasn’t an issue, there would be no attempt to deny it.
Those of you that interpret this as “support for Dorner” are the equivalent of a leftist yelling “racist” in order not to address the issue at hand.
“There would be no need to deny the burn out was deliberate, and intended to kill Dorner, if there was no risk of legal fallout for that mode of deadly force. “
The thing that disturbs me here is the police have not said, or shown, they gave Dorner any kind of final warning before using incendiary munitions. If they’d clearly given him a 5, 3, or 1 minute warning to come out or be burned out, then I’d have no problem. However, it just appears they chose to incinerate him and now they’re lying about their motivation for using the incendiary munitions, saying they didn’t intend to burn him out, although that’s exactly what they did intend to do, given the munitions. Hence, they’re getting into a lot of trouble they could have easily avoided at no real risk to themselves.
I tend to agree - the intent was to dispense teargas, so the fire was a byproduct. They're technically telling the truth.
But, even if the intent was to burn him out - what was the alternative? Wait until he killed a few more law officers or citizens? They didn't know what kind of fire power he had. Suppose he'd had some RPGs or SAMs and launched one or more before he could be stopped? The weeping and gnashing of teeth would then have been why didn't the police do something sooner!
If "we the people" stop supporting our police forces and armed services personnel, why should they continue to put their lives on the line for us???
It's for THAT reason that all of us God-loving, patriotic Americans need to go out of our way to thank those who truly serve us.
