A 1950's film promoting how the government and social security will save the elderly. Just a friendly reminder that if it sounds to good to be true...well , you know the rest.
and I just signed up to start collecting my social security...bah!!!!!!!!!
Frankly, as someone who paid into it and is now disabled, I don’t know what I would do without it. Guess I could just quietly go off somewhere and die.
Love Uncle Sam and the vault. Funny they didn’t show congress taking out the money in wheelbarrows.

SS was a great idea, the original concept of a trust fund was good. When FedGov started giving benefits to those who never paid in, things started to go south. Heading toward bankruptcy.
I heard and have not verified that FDR intended SS to become privatized around 1963, when the communists started their revolution here.
I hope Soshacurity stays solvent for you. You earned it!
Yep! I just signed up too. Turn 62 next week. I might be denied if I try and wait till 65.
So everybody understands, I’m not knocking social sec. I just found the video to be a great example of how government overstates the benefits of their programs. I truly don’t anticipate ever getting a ss check myself.
Oh I fully expect my SS benifit to be cut in the future. It will be means tested and anyone with any income at all will be denied/cut. By the way when I signed up that office looked like a freak show. Only three of us were over 60 and the rest were just a bunch of able bodied street scum trying to get their free s**t. Sickening!
I turned 64, middle of this January.
