Wow. I just read Dorner's manifesto in detail and was flabbergasted. What in the world is our modern society coming to? To be honest it reminded me (on reflection) very much of what I read years ago about the Columbine killers. There are honestly a growing group of people in this world who believe that if everything doesn't go their way - it's basically authorization to go wild and take muderous retribution...
Here we had a guy who was obviously not cut out to be a cop in the first place...sure...you can say he was wronged to some degree...but what is his response? To go nuts and murder innocent people. Another thing - he doesn't seem to have any respect for his own life...something that his kin fought for him to have over the generations.
This is a character flaw that is raising it's head more and more IMO and scares me (for the sake of my own kids). Do these young people think that if their lives don't go perfectly they don't have to work for the future?
The manifesto also reminded me of a "news special" I saw awhile back about young people in a muslim country. They were interviewing a young, fairly well educated person and asked that person about plans for the future. The answer was (I swear) "I want to work for Microsoft". The next question was "what if that doesn't work out for you?"...and the answer was "I may become a suicide bomber". Holy Cow! Is this becoming the generation of "get everything you want...or go out in a blaze of glory taking as many others out with you as you can?
As somebody who wasn't born with a whole lot of advantages, the son of a father who had less advantages, and a grandfather who had even less...I am simply stunned.
Now I realize that the vast majority of our youth today...at least the ones who were brought up right...understand what life is all about and actually have a "work ethic"...but more and more we are seeing these oddball young people (and I count Dorner as young - especially by his writing) who simply cannot accept things and do not have the patience to work over a lifetime to improve. It's mental and moral laziness IMO.
Thoughts?
Ooops...sorry about the incorrect link...I seldom create a post.
If they loaded the manifesto into Bambi’s teleprompter for the SOTU and he parroted it, nobody would bat an eye.
I call them leftists
bump
Very rational analysis.
How did this clown get past both military and LAPD psychological testing?
So you finally looked into the heart of a liberal and found the Heart of Darkness that dwells inside all liberals, hidden far away behind the ‘empathetic’ gaze and compassionate half smile.
If they could get away with it, they’d kill us all and be done with it.
White kids are different, but similar in the fact that there is some reason they don't rule the world. Of course it's not racism, but it must be some reason that the apple of his mom's eye is a failure. They are spoiled from birth with dad's credit card and all of the sudden they have to make their own way and it gets hard very quick. If you have to move back to mom's basement, you can either play XBox all day or start killing school children to prove you still matter. How many will humble themselves and go to work at Burger King until they get a break?
Mark my words — Hollywood will soon lionize this loser in a movie starring Denzel Washington.
So where is the correct link?
Here is a decent link to his full manifesto:

Entitled, they always got trophy’s because they are winners before. Now it’s not fair, and their going to get everyone back....
2 cents
By the way, Dorner is a stellar example of why the citizenry has an unalienable right to reliable Defense Rifles (they are not for assault, but for defense) with extended magazines.
Affirmative-Action.
when i read it a couple of days ago, i did not get that he expected everything to go his way... i got that he believed he was unjustly accused of something and lost his career over it... was he? i don't know... in any case, it does not justify his murder spree...
