Reporter was talking about an “air ship” being used to keep eyes on the cabin. Air ship = Drone??

In proper usage, an airship is lighter than air. Dirigible, blimp, etc.

In modern usage, there is no reliable way to discern what is meant by any term, short of asking for a more definite and precise description.
