I like it! Looks like it could be applied to lots of other situations besides the SOTU.
I could use that as I actually got stuck in one. High rise parking building next to hotel in downtown Houston. There were too many people in the elevator and it stopped. No air conditioning so it got hotter and hotter in there. No button to push to alert anyone.
I was figuring out what we needed to do, but two of those people got claustrophobic and that was bad, plus there was so many in there, there was not much moving room. We were stuck about 10 minutes and then the elevator moved up to the next floor and opened.
I was going to get out of there one way or another and was thinking we would have to remove the ceiling to see if there was a way out up there. Look, I'm a woman but I don't freak out when there is a problem - I try to fix it. The other women in there weren't thinking - they were not helpful at all, waiting for some man to figure it out. That was and is, ridiculous.
In a survival situation, those women would die waiting for someone to “save them”. If I had greeneyes in that elevator with me, her brain would be working, too, and she and I would have gotten out of there some way. (Maybe we would have burned up the useless women until we burned enough there would be enough less weight that the elevator would start moving again. Or, we could have burned up the fattest man and see if that was enough weight gone.) :o) :o) No, we wouldn't burn anyone up. :o)
There.
Fixed it.
