Todays Texas economy is well balanced between tech, manufacturing, energy, medical and agricultural sectors (among others). It isnt dependent on oil and farming any more.
Very smart. She's also clever - I think - about electrical production. All done in-house with nary a grid going in or out of the state. And costs are kept low as well. (Not great for the workers, but awesome for the consumers - which IS capitalism, after all.)
