A second shooting, involving Torrance police officers, occurred about 5:45 a.m. at Flagler Lane and Beryl Street in Torrance. No injuries were reported in that incident. Chase said that in both instances police came across vehicles they thought were similar to the one Dorner is believed to be driving. Neither vehicle was Dorner's. "Now it appears neither of them are directly related," Chase said. "In both of them, officers believed they were at the time."

Note the reflexive refusal, twice, to admit that complete incompetence was the sole reason for this disaster: It “appears” that they are not “directly related”; i.e., well, these two Chinese ladies delivering newspapers “appear” not to be in any way like a 270-pound black man, but, hey, you know, looks can be deceiving, I still think they could be in some way that we just haven’t discovered yet.

If I lived there and owned a Black Nisson I’d be ridin’ the bus. These cops seem to want to shoot a bunch of trucks hoping they’ll get him.
