Harry Reid to guarantee government shutdown by insisting on more 'revenue' in budget talks

As long as the majority leader insists that "revenue increases" are part of any package to keep the government running, House Republicans will oppose him....

There is no way that closing tax "loopholes" for the rich is going to generate the kind of revenue that will satisfy the voracious appetite for cash that Reid and his boss possess. And there's no guarantee they would follow through on any budget cuts, especially those that would hit Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

But Reid isn't interested in revenue so much as placing the blame for any government shutdown on Republicans. He and his boss in the White House think they can spin any breakdown in negotiations and make it look like the GOP's fault.

In this, they may be successful. What their strategy will do to the economy appears to be a concern furthest from their minds.

In was 1997 actually. My mistake.

as far as the rest, I'm not a douche sitting behind a keyboard like you. I'm actually active locally and regionally and do more by 5 am than you've done in a week. So keep it up big boy.

I didn’t support Carter nor Mondale, but it take a while to make a move, just like it has taken a while for Republicans to move away from me.

” My mistake.”

Dude your mistake was actually trying to justify your horrible positions and thinking someone besides you believes that dems occupying leadership positions is a good thing.

And I’m sure you make some contribution by 5am, even its a visit to the crapper for a deposit. But as far as your contribution to an impact that will help change direction in Washington - you can’t muster the energy to even vote against the libs. You seem content to resonate the MSM and play the game Obama wants you to play - just go play somewhere else newbie, or grow a pair and get in there and support the only party that can beat the dems.

It’s just that you said Clinton caused you to leave the Dem Party. Clinton was bad, but Carter was worse!

Clinto was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

I vote for who I think is the best person for the job and parties never mant much to me and really do not even now.

In local elections I often vote for Demosrats, if they are more to my liking than Democrats. I would vote for a democrat fo President if I felt one was, Qualified, American, and Conservative.

Any chance of that happening?

I joined for Conservative issues and Republicans are selling out to moderates and leftists. I have about had enough and I am not alone.
