The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun. On one side is the Tea Party. On the other side stands Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism.
Yesterday, the New York Times reported that the biggest donors in the Republican Party have joined forces with Karl Rove and Steven J. Law, president of American Crossroads, to create the Conservative Victory Project. The Times reports that this new group will dedicate itself to recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the partys effort to win control of the Senate. The group points to candidates like Christine ODonnell in Delaware and Richard Mourdock in Indiana as examples of Tea Party primary picks going sideways in major Senatorial battles.

Yes. I don’t listen to Hannity. Sometimes I watch him if he has something good on.
Buuump!
Rove thinks conservatives, including Tea Partiers, will go with the republicans in the end. And he’s been right so far. The only way we’ll ever be rid of rinos like Rove is to vote AGAINST them.
What? Cultural Marxists and homosexuals taking over the SBC, too? Last I heard, its leadership was the prebend of the late W. A. Criswell and Paige Patterson up in Dallas .... and many who agree(d) with them.
Are you saying they've been rolled by a homocabal? Or by closet liberals? (Almost the same thing, morally.)
That "We don't need 'em" line is almost pure Rove/Romneyspeak. Romney said that about Texas conservatives during the primary campaign, when Texans were battling (and losing) in court, to keep their primary date while Dems tried to force it back into May (successfully, even blowing off SCOTUS in the process). Romney said, contemptuously, "they'll come to me when I'm the last man standing" .... but they didn't. Conservatives stayed home by the millions, giving Obama his second term, even though he drew 7 million fewer votes in 2012 than in 2008.
Yes, sounds like Karl Marx Rove needs to become a Demokrat! He is just that.
What are you talking about? You saying you're sure Rove is gay? Oliver Stone said so, but I've never seen any corroboration; and Rove has a family, I read somewhere.
I’m in,became an Independent after Robert’s.Tea party man down the street. My husband is in.
The conserv BASE will not give to the Rovites. He will have millions from the DC elites et al but whatever character he can get to run will lose as all the other moderates lose. American needs a real brave choice not Dem liberal lite.
Better than no conservatives if they aren’t allowed to run.
Im not 100% tea party, but Rove can suck it. He is the biggestvproblem of all .
Meh -— I’m all-in, Pal, but you knew that ... Gonz
Rove will keep doing this stuff because he wants the money.
Rove will keep doing this stuff because he wants the money.
Yep.
Not only is Rove at war with the Tea Party, he’s got quite an “army,” starting with the names you brought up.
Ironic that the enemy within (them) sees patriotic, Bible believing, God loving Citizens as the ‘enemy within’
Their path is self destructive, I wish them God speed.
He wins when he suckers big donors who think they are getting an expert. Rove gets his paycheck.
I don’t think they will be laughing at all when faced with REAL resistance...
That Ted guy probably only got a laugh outta Graham becuase he pinched him on the arse...Must have been drunk and thought he was a chick...
I think it is well past time to flush the lot of them and start over...
But I seriously doubt anyone is prepared to say they were wrong when they voted this lot into office...
Pride sure is a disabling thing isn’t it...
Absolutely! Lest we forget that it was Rove who advised Bush against countering the constant lib lies and attacks for 8 years, until his support all but vanished. I can remember so many threads here on FR where we were absolutely dumbfounded and frustrated by their failure to counter the most grievous of lies and slander by the dems and media!!
The man might have known how to count precinct numbers at one time, but that hardly makes him a qualified advisor to presidential candidates. The man is a huge bore to boot. I meet him years ago at a fundraiser and was not very impressed with his bravado and flippant responses at times.
Rove and those like him will destroy this party if we let them. Conservatives will just hunker down for the worst and refuse to go to the polls at this point. So many of us are just worn out by it all. Not only do we have to fight the commie Marxists at every turn, we have to battle all the rinos all the time.
Free Republic is absolutely crucial to winning this internal battle with the GOPe and external fight with the Marxist dems! So let’s put our heads together and figure out how best to grow our numbers and keep this beacon of freedom flying! If anyone is reading this that has not contributed yet, the time is now folks! Every little bit helps!
Let’s Roll!!
Thank you so much! I am so glad to know I’m in good company.
