Someone altered Fulton County voter records after last years presidential election, using a red pen to add names to tally sheets of voters using paper ballots and marking that their votes all counted.
Who is responsible remains a mystery, but it happened after managers from at least two precincts had signed off on the documents and submitted them to the main county elections office.
I know for certain that these additional names were added after, Rosalyn Murphy, who served in November as an assistant poll manager at Church of the Redeemer in Sandy Springs, told the State Election Board during a hearing Thursday focusing on the performance of the countys elections office. That doesnt even look like our handwriting.
Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who is investigating more than 100 voter complaints against the county from last year, said the evidence points to possible document tampering and calls into question the vote totals Fulton reported. His chief investigator, Chris Harvey, revealed the suspect records during the fact-gathering hearing.
The scope of the problem with altered documents, and the significance, remain to be seen, but its another troubling aspect of the countys failure to accommodate all its voters during a major election.
Previously, most of the complaints already aired against the county focused on what appeared to be mismanagement that inconvenienced voters, causing some to give up on their opportunity to vote after lengthy waits in line.
If somebody who handled the documents was found to have altered them to cover their tracks, the case could move into the criminal realm, including potential charges of voter fraud.

OMG, seriously? /s
No party mentioned as having gained by this. But I think I can guess.
Fulton County elections Interim Director Sharon Mitchell looks like Obama’s sister. I seriously doubt that her subordinates were doing this on behalf of Mitt Romney.
We are either a country of LAWS or we have anarchy and tyranny. I think I already answered the unspoken question.

” I think I already answered the unspoken question.”
Yes, you have. A significant percentage of the population feels justified in cheating to win elections. In practice, the only thing holding them back is the fear of getting caught, and that doesn’t seem to be much of a deterrent - especially since the cocktail sipping liberal intellectual crowd has their back.
Seems like we may be running out of boxes.

It’s sad that they neither bother to report which party the fraud benefitted, or even need to. It’s sad that everyone knows why.
And the fact that they used a red pen to do it is, in the words of Tom Cruise in “Rain Man”: “f***ing poetic, don’t you think?”
Fulton County (essentially the west half of the City of Atlanta) GA is totally corrupt and racist to the CORE, NAACP, and SPLC (southern poverty law center), ACLU, and AJC - the local paper that never sees a racist or corrupt democrat anywhere.
The northern suburbs of Fulton County are very rich and relatively civilized - and totally outnumbered. Their votes mean nothing.
Since the elections are under State authority, wouldn't prosecution be a State responsibility?
Obama and his fascists stole the election, and republicans and our talking media heads will say NOTHING due to fear, it is just like the birther issue.
COWARDS ALL.
Dear Lord send us a champion, where is our champion?
That sounds likely but look at what Holder, et al, have done to Arizona when we tried to rein in illegals crossing the border. He doesn’t care if it a State issue. He will sue if you are doing something he doesn’t like. He is suing several states over the Voter ID issue.
Why all across this fair land, there were districts which recorded close to 100% turnouts or better, in which The Mormon Milquetoast got '0' votes. Remarkable. But hardly a cause for narrow-minded suspicion!
I think what is required is more voting time. Let's change the election laws to have the opportunity to vote over a 6-7 week period, including nights and weekends. The present election process is unfair to women (especially single moms), minorities, (especially Latinos) LGBTG persons, the elderly, and others who apparently have trouble with photo ID.
As you well know, it can take a while to figure out exactly how many votes are required to suppress the vicious racist sentiments expressed on this site. It also takes time to distribute and collect absentee ballots, due to bad weather (Global Warming caused by Bush anti-environmental policies) and other factors.
As a fair man, I think you should also join me in preventing armed people like the military from voting at all, as it intimidates the sick and shut-ins. I hope you will accept these observations in the progressive spirit in which they are offered, but one thing I have noticed on FR: every time a gay Kenyan is elected as POTUS, tempers seem to get rather short.
Let's be fair and keep civil!
Good one Kenny Bunk.
