That governmental attitude describes in a nutshell a lot of what is wrong in this country. Obscure regulations, written in the dark to implement unclear laws that few legislators have read or thought about, sporadically and arbitrarily enforced by faceless, unelected bureuacrats, enable precisely the sort of takings the Founders sought to prevent.

ALL regulations imposed are to benefit Loyal Donors, a Voting Bloc, or friends. Interference with the Market, via subsidies, is the BUSINESS of Government, to keep the Campaign Funds flowing, Relatives and Friends employed, competition stifled to benefit certain loyal supporters, etc.

That is the ONLY reason for Regulation of a Free Market, and the bullshit stories/talking points about "protecting consumers", "helping the middle class", helping "the poor, hungry, elderly, and chil'ren" are all smokescreens and PR stunts.

Democrats and the democrat party are on the same pages as the National Socialist Democrat Party and Mussolini’s regime. They almost destroyed the U.S. economy and the Constitution back then and even during the war they did grave damage to various areas of the economy due to their attempts to completely control the economy. The only thing that at least partly saved us is that FDR died and even at that he sold out eastern Europe and his policies caused a severe recession following the end of the war.

Among several writings on this, one of the most interesting is The Roosevelt Myth by John Flynn. Very revealing and it seems to be a doppelganger of the last four years.
